The Star to Guide the Way!

The Polaris mid-IR supercontinuum laser is the light source of choice for applications requiring a near diffraction-limited output beam with a wide bandwidth and high output power.

We offer two versions of the POLARIS, the 4.2 and 4.6, named after their approximate spectral cut-off in the infrared. The 4.2 can provide higher power and increased flatness, while the 4.6 offers increased signal beyond 4000 nm with higher spectral stability.

Applications include

  • Atmospheric trace gas sensing
  • Multi-species spectroscopy
  • Optical coherence tomography
  • Microspectroscopy
  • Optical fiber and waveguide characterization

Customization options

  • Beam delivery: Collimated free-space (more long-term robust) or connectorized FC/APC output (subject to special warranty conditons).
  • Optical tap/trigger: An optical tap can be introduced to provide a reference signal for optical triggering. The signal will typically have >20 mW of average power.
